celebrated dad's birthday at an authentic jap restaurant in tanglin shopping centre.

the place is really so jap. almost all the people eating there are japanese.

and there's this area that can kneel down and eat.

it's way cool. it's so jap.

i like.

too bad i didnt bring my camera.

i really admire and respect japanese people. so civilised and cultured.

even when they serve you they kneel down and serve you.

i mean you go to a chinese or honkie restaurant and you will not get this sort of service.

japanese are really superior.

people i would admire. :)

VS....VS....VS BOLEHH VS BOLEHHH..

it's the time of the year where the frantic boys go screaming and cheering for their one and only..

VICTORIA SCHOOL!!

it's the east zone badminton finals and once again the vs c boys has claimed the gold..

AGAIN.

three years in a row.

poor anligan high lost to us twice in the finals two years in a row.

no school can beat the school spirit of VS!

that's why im proud to be victorian.

it's really sad that it's my last year in vs. i wont be able to experience these anymore in future. :( not even in vjc.

no place is better than vs.

i think i am quite loser with my chinese so far. the CA test i just got back was 12/25

WOW. fail by 1 mark AGAIN.

haha. now dingni send me for chinese remedial every friday 2-4pm. HAI. waste time only. nvm i shall see it as a BRAND NEW opportunity to brush up my altrocious chinese.

if you have noticed im trying out more ways to liven up a blog post. so please bear with my experiments with words, phrases and emphasis here and there. :)

what is the best thing to do when you dont know a single thing in your chem workbook?

let me show you how. :P

Image hosting by Photobucket

pro right! but i really didnt know how to do. it was really hilarious so i have decided to blog it down.

*disclaimer* i only did this ONCE and not for all of my work.

today wasnt really a good day. started with physics CA.

I FORGOT TO BRING MY PENCIL. so yeah i did my drawings in pen and spent much time thinking what would happen. and i think you would have been sick of hearing this by now. i did not have enough time to finish. -__________________-"

after recess, i found out i had 64.4 for english CA. OMG. IT'S A B4!!!!! darn. spoil my record of only a b3 once or twice and the rest As from sec1 till now! so angry with myself. all thanks to summary test which i nearly failed. this means i have to get 5A1s for my other subjects to get a single-digit L1R5. how annoying.

life goes on...

first failure of the year 2006

chinese mock test : 49/100

rocks right! i would prefer getting a 48. it makes u feel so argh! haha!

super funny lah.

nvm jake. u've got company.

despite my 49, i found out that 10 other people got lower. LOL.

i think we need a change of teacher.

how to pay attention when mdm dingni's usage of chinese too cheem for us to understand let alone comprehend.

chinese o's is in 3months time.

HELP.

yeah. HELP.

i better not let studies and good grades become an idol in my life.

i have been wasting my time each day dreaming about the spectacular result days next year.

this brings me to my theory of "the higher the hopes, the greater the letdown"

i really dont know what would happen if i dont get what i had aimed for.

silly things just cross my mind.

time to let go of things.

In The Master's Hands

"Well it was battered and scarred
And the auctioneer felt it was hardly worth his while.
To waste much time on the old violin
But he held it up with a smile.
"Well it sure ain't much but it's all we've got left
I guess we ought to sell it too.
Oh now who's got the bid on this old violin
Just one more and we'll be through"

And then he cried
"One give me one dollar, who'll make it two,
Only two dollars who'll make it three?
Three dollars twice and you know that's a good price
Come on whose got the bid for me
Raise up your hand and don't wait any longer
The auction's about to end
Who's got four, just one dollar more
To bid on this old violin"

Well the air was hot and the people stood around
As the sun was setting low.
From the back of the crowd a grey haired man
Came forward and picked up the bow
He wiped the dust from the old violin
And tightened up the strings
Then he played out a melody pure and sweet,
Sweeter than the angels sing.

And then the music stopped and the auctioneer
In a voice that was quiet and low.
He said
"Now what am I bid for this old violin"
And he held it up with the bow

And then he cried out
"One give me one thousand, who'll make it two
Only two thousand who'll make it three?
Three thousand twice and you know that's a good price,
Come on whose got the bid for me"
And the people cried out
"What made the change we don't understand"
And the auctioneer stopped and he said with a smile
It was the touch of the master's hand

You know there's many a man
With his life out of tune
Battered and scarred with sin
And he's auctioned cheap to a thankless world
Much like that old violin
But then the master comes
And that old foolish crowd, they never understand
The worth of a soul and the change that is wrought
Just by one touch of the master's hand.

And then he cried out..."

as i read through the lyrics of this song, i cant help but contain the tears in my eyes. the vague tune of the songs still lingers in my mind when Pastor Tony played that song during offertory earlier in the month.

in the same way i am really lost for words at how God has indeed fine-tuned and transformed many of us to what we are now. from that old, worthless being with little meaning in life, to one that has a whole new reason to live.

it's really amazing how much God have done in our lives and even more amazingly transformed us. i am really so glad i knew this BIG daddy God above. without him i would most probably be that used old violin now.

In the Master's hand, i commit again.

yum! my parents bought back escargots! and now they are in the processed of being cooked :D my mom just got angry with me for........*drum roll*

buying gummy -.-"

haha. weird la. dunno what's going on. so long never buy liaos. nvm :D back to the main thing of today's post.

just today and yesterday i was reminded of certain events that slipped off my mind that i should thank the Lord for! he really preserved my life! maybe i have blogged about this before. but anyway here it is.

FIRST INCIDENT - 5 YEARS OLD

i was at indonesia with my family and other church people for some dunno what thing.. couldnt remember.. we were at this really deserted beach where there was nobody but us. i wandered into the sea. all of sudden i plunged into a deep hole (im serious!) i was fully submerged and nearly drowned and i was then still a helpless 5 year old. thankfully my dad SOMEHOW saw me and grab my hand (I THINK) before i sank any further. it was super scary la. if God didnt alert my dad or something i would most probably be the first 5year to be drowned in indonesia. somemore the water is like murky and cannot see one! i think because of this incident i got phobia of swimming or something. (that's why i cant swim =\) maybe. whatever it is i really thank God for allowing me to live like 11years more and going. :D

SECOND INCIDENT - 3 YEARS OLD(i think or younger)

at my old flat my little fragile arm got trapped in the lift. and last time the lift doors arent like those now where just touch abit then let go. my arm was stuck in the lift door for like 15minutes and my parents were veryworried and didnt know what to do. my parents remembered to pray and they did! and the lift door just open like that. i can't imagine what would happen if the lift door just shut and moved up/down. i will most probably be a armless baby. i thank God for preserving my arm.

THIRD INCIDENT - 15 YEARS OLD

this one very recent. it was last year during july at pasir ris there. it was 11.30pm and right in front of me was the last bus back. so foolish me ran across the road without any second thoughts without realising that there was a car speeding towards me. thankfully the car managed to brake on time. i was really very stunned. it was the closest i every had to being knocked down by a car. for a moment i thought my most feared nightmare which was me getting knocked down by a car and losing my legs would come true. i really thank God for not letting the car knock me, not i wouldn't know what would have become of me.

yup. three incidents. i can still remember them so vividly even though the second was like 13years ago?! for a moment i forgot them until God reminded me of these incidents.

im forever grateful to you. :)

today was initially a happy day :D what was perceived as the worst sec4 batch has brought justice to VS!! they really improved alot. and the average l1r5 is like 11.35?!! a drop from 11.28 but it's still really very good for a batch where 20something points is very good for them.

i am so proud of my seniors lah. the track n field/cross coutnry seniors really do our cca proud. 7-8people from our cca alone got 6POINTS!! OMG CAN!!! TRACK AND FIELD LEHH!!!! track ppl can study okay! and not like the rest arent as bad.. the rest like around 10-12 points lidat can!?

one of my seniors pro. prelims 20 over.. den come to the actual thing 6POINTS!!! SO ROCKS RIGHT!! den another famous senior even better prelims amaths get f9 o's get a1!!! they so rocks lah.

after seeing the joy on their faces really motivated me to work hard and get a six as well. i can imagine myself there 1 year from now. i want to share the same joy they had. six shall be the target from now on. and prove myself after stupid psle. ambitious yeah?

oh yeah. CONGRATS BEN SECK!!! SEVEN POINTS SIA!!! AND SOMMORE YOU LIKE SO SLACK CAN COME PLAY BADMINTON WITH US FEW DAYS BEEFORE -.-

i've learnt alot of things today just from personal experiences and from what i've observed.

expression.

i just find it so hard to express myself. it's like the same thing coming back again. so hard to be who i really am. i think im just too sensitive.

IMAGINE CABLE-SKI-ING FOR PE.

OMG MAN.

WE MIGHT BE HAVING THAT FOR PE FOR A TERM!

OMG MAN.

HOW COOL CAN THAT BE?! I BET EVEN ACSI DOESNT EVEN HAVE THAT FOR PE!

*disclaimer* that's only if things do work out for us. the new cable ski park at east coast rocks la. is like doing wakeboarding just that a cable pulls you. if we really can get to use the place that it will be way cool man.

OMG. IM SO LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.

standing broad jumps continuously for 80-100m with intervals today. COOL. now my legs can't walk properly. -.-" each time i traing i go back and lavish on FOOD. ice cream, bwa kua, new year goodies, blah blah. resulting in..........FATS. lol! waste my training only. just kidding.

today a whole strings of problems came by. AGAIN. i have not been doing well for my tests. it's not the usual i would get. haix. because of the summary test i am going to get a B FOR ENGLISH CA1 LEH! OMG MAN. i've only gotten a B3 as a lowest once from sec1 till now. and now it's on the verge of becoming a b4.

i have to face up to reality. i aint that great anymore. maybe im taking studies too seriously it seems. but i have to admit im very slack this year and im worried. it's been a long time since my parents bugged me to go do my work. that alone spoke something. maybe it's my lack of aspiration to go anywhere? maybe it's because of training? i really dont know.

i reacted quite badly after receiving results of two tests today. the first thing that came to my mind was. TUITION. oh yes. after school i rushed to parkway centre to go find tuitions. -.-" i really wonder which kid actually bothers or rather is desperate to go tuition. the timings dont really fit thou. i may consider. english oh english. what has happened to my poor english. no standard at all. at least compared to other people that performs better.

i was in for a rude shock today before i was on my frantic search for tuitions. i left my spikes in vj pe dept since last year before i went for holiday. -.-" and i only realised it last night. right. at first it was missing. i was so sad and confused. maybe not. it wasnt the first time i lost my spikes. probably the 5th or 6th time. by the grace and divine timing of God i managed to get it back after a second visit to vjc. it was so zhun can? it's really the work of God teaching me to trust in Him.

i realised vjc is full of dunman high people. what happened to the victorians? vjc was meant for vs students. i guess it aisnt so for now. maybe that's why i have doubts about going there. but i really love victoria. i really love the victorian spirit. i doubt it will ever be replicated as much in vjc. vs is an amazing school.

how weird. i've been jumping from one topic to another in just so few paragraphs. the conclusion-a lack of organisation skills. LOL. just kidding.

my school day ended with a rather long training. from 3.30-7. it's been a longgggg time since i last laid my feet on the jump pit. madness. had to jump like 50times today?! and it was no ordinary jump, we had to jump over the hurdle!

my old fears were dug up. i think i have a phobia of those hurdles ever since the last time i tripped over one at vjc while jumping at the pit and fell facedown. facedown? haha. reminds me of last sat!

this time the hurdle was much higher. it was up to my hip about 1m+?! my jaw dropped. i had never cleared that high before. this time it wasnt one but TWO. so it's like doing long jump at the same time clearing a box which is 1m high and about 50-70cm wide. words cant explain the horror i had. i had to face my fears. yes. i managed to clear them. it was like an achievement. been able to over the mindsets.

mindsets. mindsets. mindsets. these things that hinder us from achieving our highest potential and limits our capibility. how true it is both spiritually, mentally and physically. with much emphasis on the first.

mindsets. it has got me thinking. has it gotten you?

omg. i feel so omg man. me and dudley had a fabulous meal at MANHATTAN FISH MARKET! like so couple can? the fish and chips followed by the mussels in GARLIC BUTTER SAUCE. it's so wrong eating it. now need 1 week of training to burn it away. the food was irresitible.

after that went to cut my hair. :( i really love my abit long hair.

yups. i decided to add a blog song although i know it's wrong. =\ but this song "Everything" from Kent Henry's "History Maker" album is really powerful. so meaningful are the words and the piano playing is like urgghhh wanna faint liao.. very annointed.

just last night i found a very interesting thing in my room. MY SISTER'S SEC2 JOURNAL. i was curious and so i peered inside. sorry sis. and i have decided to "publish" a passage from it-

12/1/2001

"Its 11pm now. I just got scolded by my father for scolding my brother 'stupid'. He has no idea how much i cant stand my brother. he thinks my brother is an angel, so innocent. he also always scold me bad words but my father only tell him not to do it but he scolds me whenever i so call curse my brother. what's the diff between me and my brother? is it because he's a boy? he's younger than me 3 yrs. few years back, i already started to notice that my parents favours my brother over me. what i don't really understand is why people must have favourites?....."

if only i read it earlier. it just so reminds me of how i was last time and how much God changed me.

i didnt know my sister hated me outrightly last time too. maybe i forgot. no wonder lead to so many problems. then like now is the other way, i think that they favour her more. -.-" okay. that was last time. not now. i so wished everything would work out well for me and my sis right from the start. but it's all part of God's plan. at least it's much better now. (i think)

it's just so hard to be parents. our parents really must have alot of trouble bringing us up. fussy kids fighting with each other, both accusing you as a parent who favours the other more. poor mom and dad. now i know how much you all have to go through. i hope my children next time won't be like me and my sister. it would be the most hurtful thing seeing your two kids hate each other. (eh tt was last time not now!)

higher hopes = greater letdown

maybe it's time not to place my hopes too high.
